VEL4 Employee Portal Terms of Use

Version 2026.08.28-v1 · Effective August 28, 2026

1. Purpose and Acceptance

These Terms govern your use of the VEL4 Employee Portal provided to you through your participating restaurant, employer, or organization. By activating or using your Portal account, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Employee Portal Privacy Notice.

Your employer controls employment decisions, scheduling practices, workplace policies, and the business records entered into VEL4. VEL4 provides the software used to support those operations.

2. Eligibility and Authorized Use

Portal access is invitation-only and must be linked to your existing employee record. You may use the Portal only for legitimate work-related purposes, including viewing schedules, managing availability, submitting requests, completing assigned tasks, reviewing permitted accountability information, receiving notifications, and using other features enabled by your employer.

You may not impersonate another person, access another employee’s information, interfere with the service, attempt to bypass permissions, scrape data, introduce malicious code, or use VEL4 for unlawful, abusive, or unauthorized purposes.

3. Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your password, recovery information, and authenticated devices secure. Do not share your login credentials. Notify your employer or the VEL4 support contact shown in the application if you believe your account has been compromised.

VEL4 may require email verification, password reset, reauthentication, or other security measures before allowing sensitive account changes.

4. Employment and Operational Records

Information displayed in the Portal may include schedules, availability, time-off requests, task activity, training or position information, accountability records, operational communications, and other employment-related data entered by you or your employer.

VEL4 is an operational system and does not replace your employer’s payroll, timekeeping, human-resources, leave-administration, safety, emergency, or legally required notice procedures unless your employer expressly states otherwise. If a Portal record appears incorrect, contact your employer promptly.

Your use of VEL4 does not create or change an employment contract, guarantee any schedule or number of hours, alter at-will employment where applicable, or modify any right or obligation established by law or by your employer’s policies.

5. Requests, Availability, and Scheduling

Submitting availability, a time-off request, an open-shift request, a schedule-related response, or another request through VEL4 does not guarantee approval. Your employer determines approval standards and final scheduling decisions. Employees remain responsible for following their employer’s call-out, attendance, leave, and schedule-confirmation procedures.

6. Accountability and Electronic Records

Where enabled, VEL4 may display or record coaching, accountability, acknowledgment, signatures, comments, disputes, or follow-up activity. An electronic acknowledgment confirms that an item was presented or received when the interface says so; it does not necessarily mean that you agree with the content. Your employer controls the workplace consequences of these records subject to applicable law.

7. Team Satisfaction and Feedback

VEL4 may invite you to complete Team Satisfaction or shift-experience surveys. Survey reporting is designed to protect anonymity and uses minimum reporting thresholds. If you voluntarily request leader follow-up, VEL4 may separately link your identity to that follow-up request so an authorized leader can contact you.

Do not use survey comments or other free-text fields for emergencies, threats to safety, or matters requiring immediate attention. Contact the appropriate leader or emergency resource directly.

8. Communications

You may receive transactional emails, in-app notices, or device notifications relating to account security, schedules, requests, tasks, surveys, or other enabled Portal activity. Device push notifications are optional where supported. Important in-app records may remain available even if you disable push notifications.

9. Access Changes and Former Employees

Your employer may suspend, limit, or disable Portal access when appropriate. If your employment ends, VEL4 may provide a temporary limited-access experience for permitted communication and request history according to the employer’s configuration. Operational access can be removed immediately.

10. Service Availability and Changes

VEL4 may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue features. We work to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, network conditions, or security events may temporarily affect access.

11. Intellectual Property

VEL4, its software, interfaces, branding, and related technology are owned by or licensed to VEL4. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Employee Portal for authorized work-related purposes. They do not transfer ownership of the software or underlying intellectual property.

12. Updates to These Terms

VEL4 may update these Terms as the service changes. If a change is material, the Portal may require you to review and accept the new version before continuing to use affected features. The version and effective date shown above identify the Terms you are reviewing.

13. Questions

For questions about your employment, schedule, accountability, leave, or workplace records, contact your restaurant or employer. For questions about the VEL4 platform, use the support contact listed in the application or on vel4app.com.
